Ingredients

  • 210ml Water
  • 375g Strong White Flour
  • 1tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast
  • 17g Butter
  • 3/4 tbsp Skimmed Milk Powder
  • 1tsp Salt
  • 1tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Malt Extract
  • 1 tbsp Black Treacle
  • 250g Sultanas

Method

Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid / dry ingredients, and set your machine to the basic / normal setting, light crust.

“The dough whilst in process can seem a little odd compared to what you’re used to maybe, seeming wetter and smaller, and in particular after the 2nd rise can seem rather miss-shapen, but this all sorts it’s self out during baking, ultimately producing a loaf roughly the size of an old fashioned Hovis loaf.”
