Ingredients

  • 375ml Water & 1 Egg, mixed
  • 500g Wholemeal Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sunflower Oil
  • 2 tbsp Skimmed Milk Powder
  • 1 tbsp Raw Cane Sugar
  • 1½ tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast
  • 30g Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • 20g Cheddar Cheese, sprinkled over loaf
  • 4 Sundried Tomatoes
  • ½ Clove of Garlic, crushed
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds, sprinkled over loaf

Method

  1. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid / dry ingredients, Leaving the cheese, garlic, oregano and the mustard seeds until last.
  2. Set the machine to the basic / normal setting, medium crust.
  3. Sprinkle remaining mustard seeds and cheese over the loaf at the start of baking.

Barnsdale Nutty Loaf

Ingredients

  • 375ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • 500g Carrs Breadmaker Wholemeal Flour
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 40g Lard
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 75g Cashew Nuts, crushed
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1½ tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast

Method

  • Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients, and set your machine to the basic/normal setting, medium crust.

Chocolate Caramel Bread

Ingredients

  • 500g Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp fast action dried yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 20g butter, cubed
  • 150ml sour cream
  • 70ml water
  • 1 egg
  • 16 fun-size Snickers or  Milky Way bars (for Step 3 below)

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp water

Directions: Bread Machine

  1. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients, and set your machine to the dough/pizza setting.
  2. When cycle is complete, remove dough from machine onto a floured work surface. Punch the dough down and place on a greased baking sheet, roll out into a 16” x 10” rectangle.
  3. Place 16 chocolate bars lengthwise in two rows down the centre third of the rectangle.
  4. On each long side, cut 1” wide strips into the centre to within ½” of the chocolate bars. Starting at one end, fold alternating strips at an angle across chocolate bars. Pinch the ends to seal and tuck under.
  5. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Beat egg white and water; brush over plaits.
  7. Bake at 190°C, 375°F, Gas 5 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from baking sheet and cool on a wire rack.

Ingredients

  • 350ml Water
  • 400g Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Flour
  • 100g Carrs Breadmaker Wholemeal Flour
  • 30g Butter
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1½ tbsp Milk powder
  • 1½ tsp Fine sea salt
  • 2 tbsp Champagne
  • ½ tsp Grated orange peel
  • 1 ½ tsp Easy blend dried yeast
  • 100g Dark chocolate chips
  • 100g Dried cherries

Method

  1. Place all ingredients into the pan except the dried cherries and chocolate chips by following your manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients.
  2. Place the cherries and chocolate chips in the nut/raisin dispenser (if available) and set your machine to the basic/normal raisin setting, medium crust.
  3. If you do not have a nut/raisin dispenser when the machine indicates (with a beeping sound), add the cherries and chocolate chips and close the lid.

Chocolate Loaf

Ingredients

  • 305ml water
  • 450g Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Flour
  • 30g Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp fast action yeast
  • 1 tbsp golden granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 3 tbsp white drinking chocolate
  • Knob of butter

Method

Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients, and set your machine to the basic/normal setting, medium crust.

Chocolate Pizza

Ingredients, base

  • 140ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Fine Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Golden Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 225g Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Flour
  • 1¼ tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast

Ingredients, ganache

  • 200g Dark Chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids)
  • 125ml Cream

Ingredients, topping

  • 1 Pear, cored and sliced
  • 50g Stilton, crumbled
  • 20g Pine Nuts

Method by bread machine

  1. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients, and set your machine to the dough/pizza setting.
  2. Prepare ganache by melting the chocolate over hot water and boiling the cream in a heavy-based pan. Remove the cream from the heat and mix into the melted chocolate, stirring until blended and thickened.
  3. When the dough cycle is complete, turn the dough out and quickly knead on a floured surface. Divide in half and roll into a round large enough to cover an oiled and flour-dusted 30cm/12in pizza tin.
  4. Cover with ganache and toppings to within 2.5cm/1in of the edge and cover with oiled foil. For a thin crust, refrigerate the prepared pizza for 30 minutes before baking. For a distinct puffy edge, leave the pizza to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (425F, gas mark 7) for 20-25 minutes.

Basil Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp fast Action Dried Yeast
  • 500g Carrs Breadmaker Strong White Flour
  • 325ml water
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp Disisa Basil Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped

Method

  1. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients.
  2. Set your machine to the basic/normal setting, medium crust

 

Beer and Barley Bread

  • 325ml dark beer (we used Woodlands Midnight Stout)
  • 25g butter
  • 1 tsp fast action dried yeast

Method: Bread Machine

Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients, and set your machine to the basic/normal setting, large loaf, medium crust.

  • 1½ tsp Salt
  • 1½ tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast
  • 100g Walnuts, chopped
  • 175g Strong Blue Cheese, crumbled

Method: Bread Machine

  1. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients.
  2. Set your machine to the basic/normal setting, large loaf, medium crust.

Blue Moon Bread

Blue Moon Bread made with Carrs Breadmaker Strong Brown Flour, Rye Flour and Honey

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast
  • 420g Carrs Breadmaker Strong Brown Flour
  • 80g Rye Flour
  • 1 tbsp Skimmed Milk Powder
  • 1.5 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 tbsp Honey
  • 40g Extra Mature Cheddar, grated
  • 1/4 tsp Vitamin C Powder
  • 200 ml Cider, flat
  • 140 ml Water
  • 40g Pecan Nuts, chopped
  • 75g Blue Stilton, crumbled

Method

  1. Loaves that are out of this world! Place all ingredients into the pan except the cheese and nuts by following your manufacturers’ instructions regarding the order of liquid/dry ingredients.
  2. Place cheese and nuts in nut/raisin dispenser (if available) and set your machine to the wholemeal bake raisin setting, large loaf, normal crust.
  3. If you do not have a nut/raisin dispenser when the machine indicates (with a beeping sound), add the cheese and nuts and close the lid.
